Hudler's agent, Petr Svoboda, confirmed to Red Wings general manager Ken Holland on Wednesday night that the 25-year-old forward has signed a lucrative two-year deal with the Moscow Dynamo and plans to play in the Kontinental Hockey League.
"I'm going forward, planning that he's not going to be in a Red Wings uniform," Holland said.
Hudler earned $1.15 million last season. The Red Wings offered him his choice of a three-, four- or five-year deal, believed to average between $2.5 million and $3 million a season.
